Wellness Retreat
on the Red Sea
A Complete Guide

Morning practice on a private deck above open water. No hotel corridors, no competing guest energy, no land in sight. The floating wellness retreat that Bali, Tulum, and Portugal simply cannot replicate.

Why the Red Sea works
for wellness retreats
like nowhere else.

If you are a retreat leader looking for a venue that does something a land-based resort cannot, this guide is written for you.

The Red Sea has been hosting international travelers for decades. But as a setting for a curated wellness retreat — yoga, meditation, breathwork, somatic healing, sound work — it offers something that Bali, Costa Rica, and the Greek islands don’t: complete isolation from the land, on a private vessel, surrounded by one of the world’s most biodiverse marine environments.

Morning practice on the Boreas deck at sunrise — open water on all sides, no other vessels in sight

Water has a measurable effect on the nervous system — what marine biologists and psychologists increasingly call “blue mind.” Participants on a floating retreat report faster decompression from daily stress than those on land-based programs, simply because the visual and sensory environment is more completely removed from ordinary life.

On a private vessel on the Red Sea, there is no traffic noise, no hotel corridor activity, no competing guest energy. Morning practice happens on the deck at sunrise over open water. Afternoons move between snorkeling, rest, and facilitated sessions. Evenings are entirely yours.

The Red Sea is consistently ranked among the world’s top five diving and snorkeling destinations. For retreat participants who have never been underwater before, a guided first snorkel here — coral gardens, sea turtles, spinner dolphins — is an experience that reframes their entire sense of what is possible.

The Red Sea

One of the saltiest seas on earth — with salinity levels nearly double the global ocean average. Higher salt concentration means exceptional buoyancy, extraordinary water clarity, and a reef ecosystem so rich it hosts over 1,200 species of marine life. Your participants float effortlessly. They see clearly. They go deeper — literally and otherwise.

What Boreas provides
for your retreat group.

Boreas operates as a private floating resort on the Red Sea. The vessel is yours exclusively — no other guests, no shared dining room, no schedule built around strangers. For the duration of your retreat, the boat, the crew, and the itinerary belong entirely to your group.

What a day on board
actually looks like.

This is the question most retreat leaders ask first — and the most important one. Here is a sample day during a Boreas wellness retreat, built around a morning yoga and afternoon integration program. Every element is adaptable to your specific retreat format.

The retreat leader focuses entirely on their participants and their program. The logistics — meals, transfers, activity scheduling, cabin management — do not reach the group. That is exactly how it should be.

Combining sea and land —
the complete Egypt
retreat experience.

One country. Two worlds.

Egypt is the only country on earth where you can stand inside a pharaoh’s tomb in the morning and snorkel above a living coral reef by the weekend. No other destination combines ancient civilization of this scale with a marine environment of this quality. For a retreat group, that is not a travel detail — it is the entire point.

Many retreat leaders choose to combine the Red Sea cruise with a land program through Egypt, creating a multi-day retreat arc that moves participants through distinct environments and energetic registers.

The land portion — Cairo, Luxor, Aswan — provides cultural immersion, visits to ancient sites, and the powerful quality that Egypt’s sacred landscape carries for many participants. The sea portion provides the decompression, the water, and the physical spaciousness to integrate what the land experience opens up. Together, they form a complete journey.

Practical details before
you reach out.

These are the questions retreat leaders ask most often. Here are the direct answers.

Group size

Boreas accommodates retreat groups from 10 to 48 guests. Smaller groups have full exclusive use of the vessel. Larger groups can be accommodated across the full cabin inventory. All configurations are truly private — no other guests join your charter.

Best seasons

The Red Sea is navigable and comfortable year-round. October to April offers cooler air temperatures ideal for active deck practice and land touring — this is peak retreat season. May to September offers warmer water, longer light, and exceptional evening deck sessions. Summer heat on land is significant in Cairo and Luxor — for combined programs, October to April is strongly recommended.

Customization

Every Boreas retreat program is built from scratch. There are no fixed packages. The itinerary, daily schedule, dietary requirements, programming space configuration, and activity mix are agreed with the retreat leader in advance. Your program runs on your schedule — Boreas structures everything around it.

Accreditations

Boreas operates under Egyptian Coast Guard certification and in partnership with HEPCA — the Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association — ensuring all marine activity adheres to Red Sea conservation standards. Boreas is also affiliated with PADI Travel and the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. For wellness communities with a strong environmental ethic, these partnerships matter.

Pricing

Boreas operates on a full charter basis. Pricing is provided per group based on duration, group size, program requirements, and whether the land tour is included. A detailed proposal with full costings is provided within 24 hours of enquiry. Contact the team directly via WhatsApp or the enquiry form below.

This program is designed for yoga teachers, somatic practitioners, meditation guides, breathwork facilitators, and wellness entrepreneurs who run group retreats and are looking for a venue that is genuinely unlike anything their participants have experienced before.

Who stands behind
every Boreas retreat.

When you bring a group to the Red Sea, you are trusting an operator with your participants’ safety, their experience, and your reputation as a retreat leader. These are the organizations and partners that Boreas works with — and what each one means for your group.

PADI Travel Water Activities

All scuba diving and underwater activities on board are run by PADI-certified professionals. PADI is the world’s largest scuba diving training organization — their standards govern everything from Discover Scuba first dives for beginners to full guided dive programs for certified divers. Your participants are in qualified hands from the first entry to the last exit.

HEPCA Marine Conservation

Boreas operates in partnership with HEPCA — the Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association, the leading marine conservation body on the Red Sea. All snorkeling and diving activities follow HEPCA reef protection protocols. For wellness communities with an environmental ethic, this partnership means every water activity your group takes part in actively protects the ecosystem they are experiencing.

CDWS Maritime Safety

The Chamber of Diving and Watersports regulates all commercial diving and water activity operations on the Egyptian Red Sea. Boreas holds full CDWS accreditation — meaning the vessel, the crew, and all water activity operations are inspected and certified to Egyptian maritime safety standards. This is the accreditation that distinguishes licensed professional operators from unlicensed ones.

Egyptian Coast Guard Vessel Certification

Boreas operates under full Egyptian Coast Guard certification. All safety equipment, vessel maintenance, crew qualifications, and operational procedures meet Egyptian maritime law requirements. Coast Guard certification is mandatory for all commercial passenger vessels operating on the Red Sea — and it is the baseline your group’s safety depends on.

Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities Land Programs

All Boreas land programs operate under licenses issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. Our Egyptologist guides are ministry-licensed professionals — not freelancers or generalist tour guides. The private ground transfer companies, hotel partners, and site access arrangements we use are all government-endorsed and regularly reviewed.

Local Land Partners Ground Operations

Our land partners in Egypt have operated in Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan for over 50 years. They are members of EATA (Egypt Air Tourism Association) and EUROMIC, and hold Atout France recognition for the French-speaking market. These are not recent arrangements — they are long-term relationships built on consistent delivery for international groups who expect nothing to go wrong.

The Boreas team brings Red Sea scuba diving and liveaboard operational experience dating back to the early 2000s. The accreditations above are not branding — they are the operational foundation that makes it possible to bring a group of 10 to 48 people to one of the world’s most biodiverse marine environments and have everything work exactly as planned.
