Why Egypt Works For Senior Travellers.
Egypt is one of the few destinations where a fully controlled pace is not a compromise — it is the standard. The major sites are visited privately, with a dedicated Egyptologist guide, before the general public arrives. No standing in queues. No shared buses. No schedule dictated by someone else’s group.
The Red Sea portion is equally straightforward. Snorkeling from a floating platform, spa sessions on deck, gentle reef swims in calm bays — nothing requires scuba certification, advanced fitness, or a tolerance for rough water. The Boreas floating resort was built for guests who want genuine comfort alongside genuine experience.
Boreas operates on a full exclusive charter model — one group at a time, the entire vessel. No strangers at breakfast, no competing schedules, no shared spaces. For senior groups, this means every logistical detail — pace, rest stops, meal timing, activity level — is set by your group, not by a shared programme.
What the Land Program Looks Like.
The land portion covers Cairo and Luxor — 3 to 4 nights at 5-star service standard hotels, with a private Egyptologist guide throughout. Every transfer is private vehicle. No group coach, no waiting for others, no fixed museum schedule that rushes you past what matters.
In Cairo: the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Egyptian Museum — with the option for before-hours or priority access. In Luxor: the Valley of the Kings, Karnak, and Luxor Temple at the timing that suits your group. A domestic flight connects Luxor to Hurghada, where the superyacht departs from Hurghada Marina.
Private Egyptologist guide throughout — no shared group, no rushed schedule. Early morning access available to avoid the midday heat.
Tutankhamun collection, the Royal Mummy Room, and 5,000 years of artefacts — guided at your pace, in air-conditioned comfort.
Tombs of the pharaohs, including Tutankhamun. Your Egyptologist selects the most accessible tombs for your group and guides you through the hieroglyphs.
Karnak visited at dawn — the coolest and quietest time of day. Luxor Temple in the late afternoon as light falls across the columns.
5-star service standard accommodation in Cairo and Luxor. Private rooms for every guest. Daily breakfast included. Medical facilities nearby at all locations.
Domestic flight Luxor to Hurghada or Cairo to Hurghada included. Private vehicle transfers at every leg — airport, hotel, sites, marina. Boreas coordinates all logistics end to end.
What the Red Sea Charter Looks Like.
Seven nights aboard Boreas from Hurghada Marina / Port Ghalib. The Boreas floating resort — 50m, built 2026, 20 private suites, 300m² of deck space — is all-inclusive and fully crewed for your group alone. Spa, sea-view gym, yoga zone, two jacuzzis, two bars, sundeck, and a star deck open through the evening.
No one in your group needs to dive. Snorkeling from the vessel’s floating sea platform, gentle reef swims in sheltered bays, massage and spa on deck, yoga at sunrise — the programme is built around what your group wants, with nothing compulsory. Guests who do want to snorkel or try their first reef swim are guided throughout.
No scuba certification required. No fitness threshold. The Red Sea at Hurghada averages 26–28°C water temperature — shallow reef platforms are accessible by snorkel from the vessel’s floating sea pool. Guests who prefer to stay on deck have full access to the spa, two jacuzzis, and the sundeck bar while others are in the water.
Programme Elements — A Senior-Paced Day Aboard.
There is no fixed daily timetable. The programme adapts to conditions, energy levels, and what your group wants. Below is a reference format for a typical day on the water.
Gentle morning practice on the sundeck. Restorative and Hatha styles — open water, salt air, the reef below. No prior yoga experience needed.
Shallow reef swims from the floating sea platform — guide in the water throughout. Buoyancy aids available. Spinner dolphins, coral gardens, reef fish. No certification required.
Egyptian and Mediterranean cuisine, multi-course. Dietary requirements accommodated in full. Anchored in a calm bay — rest, read, or float in the sea pool between courses.
Full spa — massage, facials, and recovery treatments. The mineral-rich Red Sea is unusually buoyant and warm; salt water immersion is available between treatments from the floating sea pool.
Sundowner ritual at anchor. Both jacuzzis open. Sundeck bar — cocktail program, full mocktail menu, Egyptian wine selection. The desert horizon at sunset is worth building the day around.
Multi-course dinner with live music, then the star deck open through the evening. Anchored in open water, no light pollution — the Red Sea night sky is one of the clearest in the world.
The Red Sea at Hurghada averages 26–28°C water temperature year-round — calm, warm, and clear enough to see the reef from the surface without entering the water.

Who This Program Is For.
The Boreas senior and multi-generational program is designed for groups that want Egypt and the Red Sea on their own terms — at their own pace, with every detail managed before they arrive.
Travelling with a club, association, or group of friends? Boreas charters exclusively to one group at a time. Your itinerary, your pace, your schedule — from airport arrival to departure.
Grandparents, parents, and grandchildren all have activities suited to them — simultaneously. No one is left out, nothing is compulsory, and the pace is never set by the youngest or most active member.
Smaller senior groups from 10 guests have full exclusive use of the vessel. All 20 suites available, all facilities open, the same all-inclusive programme — no reduced service for a smaller group.

Logistics & Everything Your Group Needs To Know.

Questions from Senior Travellers
Do participants need to be able to swim or dive?
No. Scuba certification is not required and swimming ability is not a threshold for joining the charter. Snorkeling is optional and guided from the vessel’s floating sea platform — buoyancy aids are available. Guests who prefer to remain on deck have full access to the spa, jacuzzis, bars, and all onboard facilities while others are in the water. Nothing aboard is compulsory.
How does Boreas accommodate guests with limited mobility?
Please flag specific mobility requirements at the time of booking. Boreas will coordinate site-specific access arrangements in advance for all land visits, including priority entry where available. The vessel itself is not accessible for wheelchairs in all areas, but the main saloon, dining areas, sundeck, and bars are accessible by most guests with limited mobility. The Boreas team will discuss your group’s specific needs directly before departure.
What is the pace of the programme — is there a fixed schedule?
There is no fixed daily timetable. The programme adapts to your group’s energy levels, conditions, and preferences. On the land programme, rest stops are built into every day and there is no obligation to visit every site at pace. On the vessel, nothing is compulsory — each day is structured loosely around morning water activity, midday rest and dining, afternoon spa, and evening socialising, but guests are free to opt in or out of any element.
What are the best months for senior travellers visiting Egypt?
October to April offers the most comfortable conditions for land touring — Cairo and Luxor are significantly cooler during these months, making outdoor site visits far more manageable. Red Sea water temperature remains 24–27°C year-round. May to September is warmer on land but offers longer daylight, excellent evening deck conditions, and exceptional visibility in the water.
Can Boreas accommodate dietary requirements — including medical diets?
Yes, all dietary requirements are accommodated in full. This includes gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, and allergen-specific requirements. Notify Boreas at the time of booking so the kitchen team can be briefed before departure. Both the land programme hotels and the vessel kitchen will be informed.
How does the transfer and logistics process work for older guests?
Airport transfers are included within the defined timeframe from Hurghada airport — both arrival and departure. Port Ghalib Marina is 15 minutes from Marsa Alam Airport (RMF). All land transfers use private vehicles throughout — no shared coaches, no waiting for other groups. The Boreas team coordinates every leg, including hotel check-ins and check-outs, domestic flights, marina boarding, and departure. Guests in the group do not need to manage any logistics independently.
