Why Book Now.
This eclipse does not repeat. On 2 August 2027 the sky goes dark for up to 6 minutes 23 seconds. No total eclipse will last this long again until 2114.
Egypt is the place to be, and eclipse-week capacity across the country is filling. Hotels, flights and charters all compete for the same few days. A cabin on the water is one of the few places where you can still choose your own spot under the path. Totality times vary a lot along the coast, so see our guide to where to watch on the Red Sea coast.
One Date. No Second Chance.
The 2027 eclipse is the longest of the century. A hotel cannot move. A yacht can.
The vessel positions on the centreline for the longest darkness.
Among the best odds of a cloud-free sky anywhere on the path.
If cloud builds over one spot, the captain repositions on the day.
Luxor and Marsa Alam expect record visitor numbers. At sea, nobody stands in front of you.
What Eclipse Day Looks Like.
The whole event takes a few hours. The dark part lasts about six minutes. Everything else in the week, from reef dives to spa afternoons, fills the days around it. For the full hour-by-hour story, read watching the eclipse from a liveaboard.

How to Watch Safely.
Never look at the Sun without certified protection during the partial phases. Sunglasses do not work. Certified eclipse glasses are supplied on board.
Use ISO 12312-2 certified eclipse glasses for every phase except totality.
- Glasses stay on from first contact until totality begins.
- Glasses come off only when the Sun is fully covered.
- Glasses go back on the moment the first light returns.
- Cameras, binoculars and telescopes need their own solar filters.
