Around El Gouna

El Gouna is a small town built along the water, 35 kilometers north of Hurghada. Everything below is a short ride from the house.

  • Fanadir Marina — the closest, and an easy walk. Quiet, with a few good restaurants.
  • Abu Tig Marina — the busiest. Restaurants, cafés and most of the shops.
  • Downtown — casual food and late nights. Egyptian craft shops among the tourist ones.
  • The Sailing Club — a beach club on a lagoon, with water sports and a gym.
  • Horse riding — a stable on the coast, for beginners and experienced riders.
Good to Know
Getting there 35 km north of Hurghada airport. Direct flights from Europe take 3 to 5 hours. Cairo and Luxor are a 4.5-hour drive.
