Kite on a superyacht
Why kite schools choose the Red Sea.
The northern Red Sea delivers the conditions kite schools return to year after year — consistent thermal wind from October through May, warm flat water, and an archipelago of kite islands accessed from Hurghada Marina in under two hours by superyacht.
The thermal effect of the surrounding desert creates one of the most reliable wind patterns in the world — not dependent on passing weather systems, but a feature of the geography itself.
What separates a Boreas charter from a land-based kite camp is mobility. The superyacht moves with the wind. If conditions shift, or a better spot opens up 45 minutes north, you are already underway. Your school sets the session plan each morning based on the overnight forecast. No fixed beach, no shared space, no compromise.
A full charter means your school takes the entire vessel. All 20 cabins, the full crew, the complete itinerary — yours for the week. No outside guests. No shared departures. The superyacht operates as a dedicated floating base camp for your group.
The full archipelago — northern Red Sea.
Every legitimate Red Sea kite operator works the same archipelago of islands in the northern Red Sea and Gulf of Suez, accessed from Hurghada. Boreas covers the full range — itinerary built around your school’s priorities and the week’s wind.
The reference spot. Massive shallow flatwater lagoon, sandy bottom. Steady 15–25 knots. State recreational permit required — Boreas handles the paperwork.
Northernmost point of the archipelago. Two lagoons — one side-shore, one offshore. Strongest and most consistent wind. Classic downwinder launch point.
Long sandy beach, less traffic than Tawila. Mix of shallow and deeper water. Good for intermediate and advanced progression sessions.
Closest island to Hurghada. Sandbar exposed at low tide. Best in strong wind conditions. Often used as the first or final day spot.
Directly opposite Hurghada. Sandy beaches, straightforward water entry. Good option on moderate wind days or for beginner-level guests.
Primarily a snorkel and dive spot, kitable from the vessel for foilers. The reef system here also makes it the strongest non-kite session of the week.
Siyul Island is available as a secondary option on lighter wind days. The itinerary is never fixed — your school sets daily priorities at the morning briefing and the vessel moves accordingly.
Sample charter week — Saturday to Saturday.
The itinerary below is a reference format. Your school adapts daily scheduling to wind direction, group skill levels, and session priorities.
